The Rebel Fleet Trooper is yet another upgraded figure for The Vintage Collection, and it is yet another upgrade that is highly anticipated by the collecting community. While it's a pretty good figure, the Rebel Fleet Trooper doesn't quite live up to what it could be. The articulation is what we have come to expect from modern Star Wars figures: ball-hinged shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles; swivel wrists, hips and waist; and a ball and socket neck. The sculpting is fairly detailed for an otherwise bland outfit, with plenty of wrinkles and pockets on the uniform. The accessories are above average with this figure. In addition to the standard helmet and blaster, the figure also includes an ammo belt that can attach to the right ankle, a radar gun, and a barely-seen yet screen-accurate hat.

Now that I've built this figure up, it's time to tear it down. The first flaw with this figure is the lack of a holster. It is a part of the costume that can be seen on many of the troopers in A New Hope, and it would have made an awesome play feature. The second flaw is the very distinctive head sculpt on the figure. The head appears to be based on the older Rebel Fleet Trooper, Pello Scrambas, and because of this the figure does not lend itself to army building. While the figure is very good, a more generic head sculpt and a holster would have made it perfect.
