I’m just going to start off this review by letting you know that you can pass on this figure. There are some paint differences from previous releases (and this does make it a slight improvement), but this reviewer has just had enough of Boba Fett in the line. Since this particular Boba Fett figure was released back in 2008, it’s appeared twice in the regular basic figure line, each time with nothing new but paint differences. I understand that Boba Fett is a hugely popular character, and this is actually a pretty solid action figure, although Original Trilogy purists must hate the removable helmet with Jango Fett’s cloned likeness underneath. On the topic of the removable helmet, there is one important flaw to mention. The shape of the helmet doesn’t seem very screen accurate. I don’t know, something’s just off, and it’s probably because it’s meant to accommodate Fett’s noggin. This is why I personally still prefer the Boba Fett figure from 2004’s Vintage Original Trilogy Collection. Anyways, here’s what Hasbro could do to get me to buy another Boba Fett figure. Let’s see some ball-jointed hips and wrists, and also omit the removable helmet feature in favor of a perfect helmet sculpt with an adjustable rangefinder. I think we will see a Boba Fett figure like the one I just described some day in the future, with those advances in articulation we’ve seen in the last few waves of figures (even Ewoks have ball-jointed hips these days)…well, except I don’t think they’ll be abandoning the removable helmet feature any time soon, unfortunately.
