The ARC Trooper Commander will likely become one of the most popular figures from Wave 7, if not the whole Vintage Collection. While the figure has a generic name, everyone knows (Hasbro included) that this guy is based on Captain Fordo from the 2003 Clone Wars micro series. The ARC Trooper Commander uses the VC45 Clone Trooper body as a base, so it features ball & socket waist and neck articulation, and ball-hinged everything else. The general consensus on the body sculpt seems to be that it is too thin, but I think it accurately captures the look of the clone troopers that we see in the Star Wars films. The head sculpt is very similar to other clone trooper heads that we have seen since 2002, except this head features a distinctive mohawk and facial hair.

The real selling point of this figure is the inclusion of two different costumes. In the Clone Wars micro series, Captain Fordo is seen in two different sets of armor. With a simple switch of the belts and helmets, the ARC Trooper Commander can be displayed in either set of armor. By mixing and matching the belts, helmets, and skirt, one can even create their own unique armor style for the ARC Trooper Commander. This figure takes an excellent clone and adds some new gear to create an iconic and popular ARC Trooper. I strongly recommend the ARC Trooper Commander for both collectors and kids.
